Montrealer of Moroccan origin, Manal Drissi studied communications at the University of Ottawa before embarking on a freelance writing career and then moving on to radio and television. Since 2015, she has carved out a place for herself both on the web and in traditional media by delivering columns on various social and current issues. We have heard or read it in particular at Plus we est de fous the more we read, Gravel in the morning, La Soirée est (encore) jeunes, Journal Métro, Châtelaine and LaPresse. She is presently writing a television scenario.
Manal also provides a conference on digital disadvantage, examining the following question: in a world where diverse expression is becoming widespread and online culture promotes anonymity and impunity, does being a woman constitute a disadvantage in the digital realm?
